About
The Open Source Developers' Conferences (OSDCs) are grassroots symposia
originating from Australia.
The conference tries to bring together the users of various OS technologies
such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Subversion and more.
The Israeli OSDC is organized by the Israeli Perl Mongers
and the Israeli Python user group with the help of
HaMakor the Israeli NPO for the advancement of Free and Open
Source software in Israel.
Our aim is to bring together practitioners, scholars, students, programmers, researchers and managers
from different areas to discuss their views on various aspects of the Open Source technologies,
to share knowledge and to have fun while doing so.
Similarry to the original OSDC in Australia, the Israeli conference also grew out of the
local Perl conference, YAPC::Israel. Prior to
OSDC::Israel::2006 there were three successful YAPC::Israel conferences between 2003 and 2005.
